Networking and Speaker Event - featuring BBC Radio Shropshire's Jim Hawkins

The first Creative Shropshire event of 2009 will start with networking from 7.30-8.30pm, then we will be joined by our guest speaker, local BBC Radio Shropshire presenter, Jim Hawkins.

Jim has worked at a variety of BBC and commercial radio stations including BBC Radio 4 and Century FM. At Century he won the Sony Radio Academy Silver Award in 2002 in the 'Interactive' category for what the judges said was "outstanding and very, very funny ...an almost placeless local radio programme, and very entertaining".
He was shortlisted for the 2006 Sony Radio Academy Speech Broadcaster of the Year Award.

Jim will be talking about his shows on the radio, and about his nearly thirty years in broadcasting. He'll also talk about the BBC, both in Shropshire and further afield. Jim will explain what they do and how they do it, with particular reference to how it can help and benefit the members of Creative Shropshire. Jim will be talking for about 20-25 minutes, then there will be a Q&A afterwards - so get your questions ready!
