Striking Monolith signage for new Shropshire academy

A new Shropshire education academy has invested in two impressive Monoliths to identify their Corndon Crescent site. The prominent 2.5m tall Monoliths demark the vehicular and pedestrian access points at the secondary school in Shrewsbury.

The Shrewsbury Academy selected Plinkfizz, a marketing consultancy based in Newcastle-under-Lyme to develop their new identity, launched following the academy’s creation in September 2016. Plinkfizz regularly partner with Kyoti Graphics for the supply and installation of business signage and exhibition graphics. Following a consultation period which included design development and substrate specification, structural surveys and planning permission, Plinkfizz supplied the designs for the Monoliths which Kyoti Graphics installed in Autumn 2016.

Each Monolith comprises a steel internal frame with legs for ground fixing, and is finished with rolled and folded panels which are powder coated in the brand colours of blue and pink. Completed with feature elements including fret cut aluminium strips, flat cut acrylic letters and logo along with vinyl cut letters.

The Monoliths were installed over 2 days, using concrete filled holes supporting structural ground sleeves back filled with aggregate. The hole size is determined by wind load calculations influenced by graphic surface area and mounting height. This ensures not only a durable and secure sign, but the use of sleeves also enables the sign to be more easily levelled, and potentially moved as future site development determines.

Monoliths or Totem signage are suitable for larger sites including schools, and are available in a wide range of styles and represent a great alternative to conventional panel and post signage. They can incorporate feature elements as well as lighting to create an entirely bespoke one-off sign. The collaboration of Plinkfizz and Kyoti Graphics has created truly distinctive signage at the entrances to one of Shropshire’s newest educational establishments.

Health and safety accreditation leads to growth in signage installations for Kyoti Graphics....

A Shropshire large format printing specialist has gained Contractor Plus accreditation, which is contributing to growth in business signage installation projects throughout the Midlands.

Kyoti Graphics has successfully gained health and safety certification called Contractor Plus. This accreditation demonstrates the company’s ongoing commitment to health and safety, and specifically enables Kyoti Graphics to bid for a wide range of signage projects for the UK’s leading regeneration specialist St. Modwen.

Director Rob Evans said, “we have always strived to complete high quality signage installations, but this also marks a key point in the company's growth and evolution, as we begin to acquire national recognition for our ongoing works. Contractor Plus is an annual audit of our health and safety documentation and procedures, and our accreditation has allowed us to win some large site signage projects for St. Modwen and is helping us to raise our businesses’ profile with other key national and regional developers.”

Fabulous Fabric Graphics

Printed fabric mounted in frames, is a fantastic method for creating seamless graphics in both freestanding and wall mounted spaces.

Faber Technology Ltd, a polymer injection moulding company based in Newtown Powys, had booked a 16m x 5m L-shaped space at the Tackle and Gun Show held at Stoneleigh each October. Faber Technology had some eye-catching designs, which enabled Kyoti Graphics to install fabulous fabric graphics using freestanding, tension fabric, backwall displays.

The displays are simple to assemble using one tool. The graphics can be produced at widths up to 3m and lengths up to 50m. But larger sizes can also be produced using an almost invisible seam. The graphics are simple to fit and remove, and can be rolled or folded for convenient transportation and storage.

In addition to exhibition spaces, tension fabric displays are also great for wall mounted displays, freestanding flat or curved displays, and can incorporate LED light boxes and accessories such as literature holders and poseur tables.

Contact Kyoti Graphics or call 0800 046 9899 to learn more about how you can include some fabulous fabric graphics in your next exhibition, showroom, reception or internal display.
