Published: 03/03/06 New networking forum Creative Shropshire recently enjoyed its official launch with an event themed with ‘old cinema’ at Shrewsbury’s historic Music Hall. The creative glitterati came out in force to celebrate the occasion, which featured a Star Wars-inspired cinema screen showcasing the best of Shropshire’s creative services and an exhibition of works by individual members. “We’ve received a huge level of interest in what we’re doing,” says member Lara Page. “And we were delighted that so many people came to find out more about us. The event provided us with a perfect platform to showcase some of the work we’ve been involved with, from illustration and cartoons to public relations and photography.” The groups’ objectives include the development of Shropshire’s creative sectors and encouraging local firms to utilise the skills of ‘home-grown’ creative professionals including designers, copywriters, photographers, illustrators cartoonists, art sourcing, marketers and web specialists to market and promote their businesses. Creative Shropshire are planning to follow their launch with a series of regular events, open to both members
